History

The conception of Greenwood Christian Center began in the hearts of Bishop Gary and Pastor Debbie McIntosh while studying the history of the City of Tulsa. The 1921 Race Riots, a catastrophic event that left North Tulsa's African-American community devastated, had driven a stake between race relations for decades. For years the McIntosh’s prayed for vision, strategy, and reconciliation for the city, and in the Fall of 1998 received a commission from the Lord to start a church dedicated to the radical transformation and restoration of the North Tulsa Community.

Twelve years later, what started as a bible study in the home of two intercessors has become a center for training and development of leaders around the world, a hub of family-centric love and teaching, and more importantly a staple in the North Tulsa community. Greenwood Christian Center stands with a leadership base of 200 people and a membership of over 2,000. This humble vision birthed in prayer has come to life in a radical way and continues in its mission to touch a city by raising up a people.
