Principle of 12

P12 is the coined name for the “Principle of Twelve.” A principle is a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior. Jesus had twelve disciples that He poured His life into and developed into world changers. Jesus preached to the masses but won the world through twelve. Twelve throughout the Bible is known as the number of government or governance. We believe that this was the mind of God to select the number of twelve to institute order, discipline and development. We wholeheartedly believe in “discipleship,” which means a lifestyle of learning, living and teaching the principles and Word of God. P12 is the method of how discipleship is administrated in our church. We have small groups of 12 that develop relationship and community, learning about God’s ways, and how they apply to our lives.

Win

Our goal is to evangelize, introduce and expose people to the unconditional love of God, ultimately establishing a commitment to God, by repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Proverbs 11:30 states (NIV) 30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.” We “win” souls through services, events, activities and relationships desiring that all that haven’t accepted Jesus Christ, as their personal Lord and Savior would make a firm decision and commitment to serve Him.

Connect

Our second step is to truly connect. Through small groups, and services our desire is to connect to understand needs, to serve and to foster community. We connect by calling, meeting and even emails. Whatever way we can “connect” with you and partner with you in your life regardless of your struggle is our honor and purpose.

Disciple

Our third step once we’ve connected is to “disciple”. A disciple is a learner or student of a teacher, leader, or philosophy. Our philosophy comes from the Holy Bible, and our leader/teacher is Jesus Christ. To truly become a student, learner or follower of God’s principles takes time and specific training. Our process to help one discover the joy of being a disciple of Jesus is described below:
Phase 1: Encounter weekend a 3-day retreat
Phase 2: Journey to Purpose a 14-week course on securing your experience with God, discovering your purpose and beginning your Journey.
Phase 3: Discovery 1, 2, and 3 – 10-week Leadership development courses.

Upon completion of Discovery 3, each student graduates from the courses and has the privilege to begin a small group and bring them through the same process.

Send

The fourth step is to Send the students into leadership, releasing their unique gifts and talents. Upon Completion of the Discovery Process, each student has the opportunity to begin a small group. We encourage people who are walking with the Lord to share their journey with others. Our stance is to empower the whole body to minister the love of God to whomever is in need, but we also encourage people to choose a select few people that they can commit to pray for, serve and mentor in the Lord. We call this small group a Principle of 12 group or a ‘P12’ group. The principle of 12 is based on Jesus’ New Testament model of discipleship.
